03 — Parable For a Good Life
In a Visionary Business, the goal of A Good Life, as defined by you, is the center and beating heart
How do I want to spend my days, months and year?
I love this parable, and how much it reminds me of my father
He LOVES money — as a hobby
Flowing in, flowing out, never staying
As a Greek immigrant suspicious of the banking system, he loves cash and check cashing places and buying a new $1500 car in cash every year (all horrible in their own unique way)
The hobby is to shuffle this cash around; paying for gas, tipping the waitress at the diner, buying shoe shine at Walgreens, shoving $100 bills in my hand and telling me not to tell my sister; all this money movement is called his life
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are the purpose of life for Greeks
And dramatic complaining (over breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Working enough to have enough, enjoy, eat, and live out a calling
The Mexian Fisherman and the Greek Dream Have a wise sufficiency in common
Not labor and wealth unto itself; but rather unto beauty, provision, legacy and peace
