Thinking Conceptually II

Recently in a post Melinda said she would photograph her husband's stubble, as it signaled to her the finitude of their time together

This is conceptual thinking in photography

It reminded me of Proud Flesh by Sally Mann, in which she photographs her long-time husband as he experiences muscular distrophy

In the Aperture book by the same name, Mann's work is described this way: "in her hands, experiences drawn from daily life are rendered both disquieting and sublime."

The experiences of daily life are the photographs; the disquieting and sublime are the concepts

EXERCISE:

Browse the Aperture catalogue and identify works using these two identifiers:
the subject (a husband, a child, a place) and the concept (the sublime, finitude, unwanted change)
